Getting Here
Trains, Trams and Buses
During the Royal Melbourne Show Connex run dedicated trains to the Showgrounds from Flinders Street, stopping at Southern Cross and North Melbourne stations. Yarra Trams and Metlink buses also cater for additional services to the Showgrounds.
Taxi
A taxi ride from the central business district of Melbourne to the Showgrounds takes about 15 minutes. A taxi rank is located just outside the Showgrounds Main Entrance on Epsom Road, Ascot Vale.
Car
During the Royal Melbourne Show parking is available (5000 spaces) at the Flemington Racecourse adjacent to the Showgrounds. If travelling from the west, please note that public vehicle entry will also be available via Smithfield Road.

The Royal Melbourne Show
The Show has been a signature event in Melbourne since 1848, when it started as a ploughing competition in Moonee Ponds. Organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RAS), The Show is Victoria's largest and longest running annual public entertainment event. It is iconic in its own right, attracting around half a million visitors each year. In 2005 we celebrated our 150th Show.
While there's no doubt the Show has grown with the times, expanding to eleven days and nights jam-packed with non-stop entertainment and activities, it still retains its connection with the land, featuring some of the largest and most prestigious exhibitions of animals and rural life in the southern hemisphere.
The Show provides patrons with a chance to experience the very best Victoria has to offer in agricultural competitions and displays, rural lifestyle, leisure activities, entertainment, food, wine, horticulture, showbags, rides and more.

Melbourne Showgrounds Venue
In addition to the Royal Melbourne Show, the RAS manages the Melbourne Showgrounds venue. Facilities are available for short or long term rental and are suitable for a range of purposes including retail, major or minor events and exhibitions.
