Slow Food - Victoria's Spudhunters
Curious about spuds? Roll up your sleeves and get ready to find hidden treasures in an exciting, interactive food education activity for children from 4 to 10 years old taking place in the Grand Pavilion. Find the treasure. Solve the puzzle. Taste the prize!

Learn about the life cycle of the potato and life as a potato farmer. Students learn to identify potato varieties and how they grow as they dig around in a mini-paddock. Using freshly dug spuds, our resident chef will tantalise the tastebuds with scrumptious morsels, demonstrating simple, tasty recipes that are easy to make at home. Children will leave with their own bag of potatoes, growing/eating notes and some homework.

Slow Food Victoria is a membership-based organisation that helps people discover the joys of eating and understand the importance of caring where our food comes from and how it was made.

Grampians Pyrenees on show!
If you've ever wondered what it's like to live, work and play in the Grampians Pyrenees, visit the Grand Pavilion at the Show. Chat to local residents, business owners and government representatives about career opportunities, education and health, local services and weekend attractions such as adventure, sport, food and wine. Try your hand at rock climbing or a simulated mountain bike ride.  You can even run the Stawell Gift. Better still, we're giving away a free block of land in Avoca to one lucky tree-changer.
