The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) looks forward to welcoming you to the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show and we are pleased to announce that the RASV is now calling on Expressions of Interest for commercial space.
The Royal Melbourne Show attracts over 500,000 people each year and is Victoria’s largest annual event. This makes the Show a must for companies to attend and showcase their product to the ever enthusiastic crowds.
The Show has seven themed commercial areas to ensure exhibitors reach their target market and get the most out of this unique experience.

The program for Alpacas in 2008 is currently being finalised. Entries will be open from late May.
Art, Craft and Cookery
Entries open
Who can enter?
Open Competitions - open to everyone including Art, Craft & Cookery, Decorated Cakes, Preserves and Photography.
Restricted Competitions - people who have special needs or are in care.
Junior & School Competitions Aged 5- 18 years of age at the commencement of the current Show.
What can I enter in the Show?
Art, Craft & Cookery covers a broad range of disciplines with many new classes and exciting classes for you to try in 2008.

New Media Short film or animation. Up to five minutes of moving images.
Recycled Garment/Article Either made from yarn, recycled from a second hand jumper, or items which would otherwise be thrown away.
100 Mile Garment/Article An entry that best shows environmental responsibility and involvement with your local community. The Garment/Article from raw product to creation must occur within a 100 mile (160k) radius of the raw product.
Tapestry Make a cottage house or a Christmas decoration.
Beginners And Novice Classes plus the traditional crafts, knitting, spinning, folk art, faberge’ egg and much more.

- Package 3 –Exhibitor Discounted Entry Ticket Order and Pay with your entries before the 25 July 2008 for the option to buy: One exhibitor discounted ticket (if exhibiting 1 – 9 entries) for entry to the Show. (Restricted and Junior & School Competitions not applicable). Enter and Pay before 26 June 2008 to receive Early Bird $1.00 off entry fees.

When are the exhibits judged?
Art, Craft, & Junior/School Competitions Judging take place on Thursday 11 September and Cookery & Preserves Competition on Saturday 13 September. Public Judging Novice Cookery is on Saturday 20 September 2008.
Where do I go to see my exhibit?
The Art, Craft & Cookery will be housed in a dedicated Art & Craft Pavilion. Pavilion staff will be happy to assist exhibitors and members of the public in locating an exhibit or section. Due to the large volume of people moving in and around the pavilion, exhibits are encased in glass cabinets or roped-off to ensure they are not damaged.
Where can competition results be found?
Competition results will be available at the commencement of the Show.
Cattle
Entries for the Beef and Dairy Cattle competitions at the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show will open from 16 May. Beef cattle and Carcase entries will close on 11 July, with Dairy Cattle entries on 18 July 2008.
Dogs
Entries for the 2008 Dogs competition are now open. Applications close 18 July with new Baby Puppy Sweepstakes entries closing on 15 August 2008.
Horse competitions and exhibitions at the Royal Melbourne Show
The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria is pleased to welcome horses back to the Royal Melbourne Show in 2008, and will offer exhibitors the enhancements to schedule and facilities as promised in 2007. Entries are open from 16 May and close on 20 June, with the exception of Hunting Classes which close 6 August 2008.
Sheep
Entries for Sheep competitions at the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show will open from 16 May and close 25 July 2008.
Woodchop
Entries for the Woodchop competition at the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show are now open. Entries close 30 May 2008.
Poultry
Entries for Poultry competitions as the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show will open early June and closes 1 August.
Fleece
Entries for Fleece competitions at the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show will open from 16 May and close 15 August.
Goats
Entries for Goat competitions at the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show will open from 16 May and close 25 July 2008.
